Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a DOT Exam cost?

As os now, our DOT/CDL exams cost $80.

What should I bring to my appointment?

To ensure a smooth visit, please bring the following items with you:

  • Driver’s License
  • Pertinent Medical Documentation
  • Current List of Medications
  • Glasses, Contacts, or Hearing Aids
  • CPAP Machine and report, if applicable

Will I be tested for drugs?

No, the urine test provided does not test for drugs or alcohol.

I have high blood pressure. Does that mean I'll automatically fail?

Not in every case.  It means that you will have to work with a medical professional to manage your condition.  If you do not have a provider, you can schedule an appointment with one of True Phoenix’s providers for Primary Care Services.

Will I automatically get a 2-year certificate?

Not always.  There are times when the driver’s health conditions require him/her to have physical exams performed more frequently than 2 years. The Medical Examiner will explain his/her decision during the exam.

I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. What should I bring to show that my condition is being managed?

For those managing sleep apnea with a CPAP machine, it’s important to bring a recent sleep apnea report to your DOT Exam. This report should include readings from your CPAP machine, typically covering the last 30 days of use. This documentation is essential as it demonstrates your compliance with treatment and your condition’s management.

Will my insurance cover this exam?

No, DOT physicals are not covered by health insurances.

Testimonials

What Our Patients Are Saying

I came in for a DOT exam and found out I was diabetic. It delayed my certification, but the provider helped me understand what to do next. I saw a doctor, got treated, came back, and got certified. This visit truly changed my life.

Seen, Heard, & Respected Driver

I’ve had DOT exams at many other places where I was stuck waiting for hours. Not here! I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The staff was professional, and the process was smooth from start to finish. I’ll be back next year for sure.
