Who is eligible for GAHT at True Phoenix?
True Phoenix provides Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) for adults 19 and older. To determine eligibility, all new patients must complete an initial consultation, where we assess medical history, discuss treatment goals, and ensure that GAHT is a safe and appropriate option for you. We do not provide GAHT for individuals under 19.
Which insurance plans can be used for gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT)?
We accept Medicaid, Medicare, Aetna, CareFirst, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Humana. Coverage for GAHT depends on your specific plan, and we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm eligibility. If your plan does not cover the service, we also offer affordable self-pay options to make care accessible.
How can I access GAHT services—are virtual visits available?
Virtual visits are available, allowing you to receive gender-affirming care from the comfort of your home. We currently serve patients in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Colorado, Washington State, Utah, New Mexico, and Florida. However, please note that masculinizing care is not available in Utah, New Mexico, or Florida at this time.
What medications are prescribed for GAHT?
For feminizing therapy, we may prescribe estrogen and anti-androgens. For masculinizing therapy, we typically prescribe testosterone.
How is my privacy protected during GAHT visits?
All GAHT visits and medical information are kept strictly confidential. We follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure your personal health details remain private and secure. Whether you’re seen in person or virtually, your trust and safety are our top priorities.
What if I am already receiving GAHT? Can I transfer my care to True Phoenix?
Transferring your GAHT care to True Phoenix is possible and often a smooth process. We will review your current treatment plan, labs, and history to ensure continuity of care. Our team will work with you to make the transition comfortable and supportive.
Do you offer consultations for STI or PrEP/PEP?
We provide confidential consultations for STI screening, PrEP, and PEP to support your sexual health and wellness. Our team offers compassionate, judgment-free care, with virtual visits available for added convenience. The cost for this visit is $120.
